When you look at the 2023 Ford Edge, it is easy to see why it is the standout vehicle among the field of two-row SUVs available. Imposing styling, a vast sumptuous cabin space paired with the latest technology and safety features make it one of the most impressive cars on the market in any category.

Trim Levels

Five trim levels are available in the 2023 Edge lineup. There are three models, the SE, SEL, and the ST-Line, that are similarly spec-ed, with incremental upgrades between each, such as improved seating functionality and added safety technology on the SEL, or the dual-powered heated mirrors and LED fog lamps fitted to the ST-Line.

The Titanium and the ST stand slightly apart. In the case of the Titanium, it is all about luxury with features such as a heated steering wheel, Bang & Olufsen sound system, and luxury seating. The ST adds to this mix a more powerful engine as well as four-wheel vented disc brakes.

Exterior Styling

The exterior styling gives the Edge a strong bearing. The large honeycomb grille, with chrome surround, and the swept-back headlamps help create the effect. These features are complemented by 18-inch aluminum wheels on the SE and SEL models, while the ST and ST-Line have 20-inch aluminum wheels, with the ST having uniquely styled high-gloss, black-painted pockets.

Interior Styling

Inside the Edge, you immediately become aware of the spacious interior. It is roomy for both passengers and drivers alike yet still contains substantial cargo space, with 39.2 cu ft available to the second seat row, which increases to a huge 73.4 cu ft to the first row.

Entertainment is well provided for. A 12-inch LCD touchscreen panel with voice recognition is fitted as standard. The panel links to your cellphone, with an additional cloud connection giving you great interconnectivity, while a USB media hub completes the layout.

Engine Performance

A superb car needs a great engine, and here Ford has excelled with two engine options, dependent on trim level. A Twin-Scroll 2.0L turbocharged unit, which produces 250 hp, is fitted to all models except the ST. Instead, the ST has a 2.7L V6 turbocharged unit that delivers a massive 335 hp.

An 8-speed automatic transmission completes the powertrain for the 2.0L, while the 2.7L has a 7-speed automatic transmission, with the whole range having Intelligent All-Wheel Drive fitted to enhance handling and ride.

Safety Features

Sitting in any of the Edge models, you are immediately enveloped by a blanket of safety. There are multiple airbag systems, a second-row safety canopy, and a side curtain fitted with a rollover sensor. All models also come with Ford Co-Pilot360, which is a comprehensive suite of safety technology to aid the driver.

On every level, the 2023 Edge delivers. Comfort, technology, and a crisp ride inside imposing styling make you want to keep driving it. To experience just how good the Edge is, call in at McCandless Ford Meadville today to organize a test drive.
