Inspiring Hope In October

We proudly wear a pink ribbon during October to represent the annual campaign to increase awareness of breast cancer. Women are the yin to yang, brave, determined, and nurturing beings that are frequently affected by this disease. The National Breast Cancer Foundation, Inc. states: “1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime. There is currently no known cure for breast cancer, and its early diagnosis is critical to survival.”

Building Community Awareness

Our team at McCandless Ford Meadville has joined the fight by partnering with two leading education and advocacy organizations for cancer care within our community throughout the month of October to inspire hope, including the Pink Angels and the Meadville Medical Center’s Cancer (MMC) Services at the Yolanda G. Barco Oncology Institute. Formed in 1992, the MMC Foundation’s primary objective is to advance community health and longevity by funding new services and equipment. Since merging with the McCandless family for Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the MMC Foundation has supported numerous critical endeavors making a lasting impression. Pink Angels is a local charity initiative that started back in 2009. Its mission is to supply financial assistance for out-of-pocket expenses that medical insurance doesn’t cover, such as gas cards for traveling to treatments, groceries, and childcare. We believe in the MMC Foundation and Pink Angels fighting a steadfast battle against breast cancer, and you too can make a difference!

Making An Impact

During the month of October, McCandless Ford Meadville will donate $5 for every completed service order ticket at our dealership. Last year we raised a total of $5,520 from both McCandless Ford locations, plus an additional $418 in donations from family and friends, for a grand, inspiring total of $5,938! All of the funds raised this month by McCandless Ford Meadville will be dispersed evenly between these two incredible alliances. We are Ford Warriors In Pink®, who are here to make a difference and stop this illness before it grows.
